This past year has been nothing short of amazing. I learned so much about myself and grew so much individually, as a person.
I've been blessed to have gone on two trips this year. One to the other side of the country- Florida - to go to Disney World. I got to have the experience with my family, my boyfriend, but most importantly, my grandfather. He's never been, but always wanted to see what it was about. I'm glad I got to experience his first time to any Disney park with him.
My boyfriend and I have been before when we were both in high school. Fun fact: that trip is where we got to know each other a lot and how we started to grow close and started our three year friendship before turning into our, currently, 7.5 years relationship. My family has never been to Disney World before, and my mother was probably the most excited; she gets so excited about anything Disney.
The other trip was to Las Vegas, Nevada. It was my third time there and it still didn't disappoint! This time it was my boyfriend, my parents & sister, and grandpa. My two brothers stayed behind for this trip. It was another breath-taking trip and the experience was completely different from my previous two trips there. This time we did a little more site seeing and went to the Hoover Dam as well as the Grand Canyon. It was the first trip where the only sibling I had was my sister. I think 2017 did our relationship well. My sister and I hardly got along, but with her being a senior in high school, she's started to grow up a lot, and I can see how she looks up to me. We found a new respect for each other and I'm glad I got to have some one-on-one time with her.
Work related, I became a trainer. That was super exciting for me because I love training people. I love seeing people grow and I love helping people find passions or see them connect the dots on their own and become independent - I've always had this natural maternal, nurturing thing within me and it's something I absolutely love doing. Since becoming a trainer, I've had four trainees. All of them came with their own completely different personality and levels and complexity. I'll be honest, I was nervous with my first trainee; I wasn't sure if I was going to be any good at my new task of training people. With my second trainee, I was finding my footing by paving my own path and fairly confident within myself.
My "side - hustle" became this blog, creating it and getting it ready for all that I want it to grow into. Also, trying to find my footing with video blogging and re-starting my YouTube. I won't lie. It's still VERY hard to edit videos because I don't like the way I sound or look; there's always a reason I've scrapped a video. I'm still learning to accept where I'm starting, and get excited for all where I can end up if I just keep at it.
That leaves us with here and now. The ending of 2017, and the beginning of 2018. I can't wait for this year because I know it will be just as amazing and filled with many blessings. I can't wait to share them with you!
